Last week I wrote about how Anchored will help you teach children why they are able to believe the Bible is trustworthy. Today I want to look at 1 Peter 3:15, 16 and how these verses give us another solid reason "why" we need to teach the "whys".
But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
Did you see in these verses where it tells us to, "always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you"? When we teach the "whys" to the children in our ministries and to the children we love, they will be "always prepared to make a defense" - and will have a confident faith as well.
Over the years we have taught the "whats" - Sunday school curriculum, books, and videos all help us with this. But until now there has not been a resource to equip our youngest children with the "whys" so they have a solid, confident faith. Anchored was written to do exactly this. Check out sample lessons at this link and order it at this link. Plan now to use Anchored with the children in your church - and equip the parents and grandparents to use it in their homes with the children they love. When you do this, you will have children with a confident faith. Children who are able to hold on to their faith throughout their lives and who are able to "make a defense to anyone".
