Friday I shared some quotes about why we need to know and teach apologetics - today I want to share a few more . . .
- While we are often willing to spend time reading the Bible, praying, or participating in church programs and services, few of us recognize the importance of becoming good Christian case makers. - Author: J. Warner Wallace
- Apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia, which means a defense, as in a court of law. Christian apologetics involves making a case for the truth of the Christian faith. - Author: William Lane Craig
- Though argument does not create conviction, the lack of it destroys belief. — Alister E. McGrath
- Many Christians do not share their faith with unbelievers simply out of fear. They’re afraid that the non-Christian will ask them a question or raise an objection that they can’t answer. And so they choose to remain silent and thus hide their light under a bushel, in disobedience to Christ’s command. Apologetics training is a tremendous boost to evangelism, for nothing inspires confidence and boldness more than knowing that one has good reasons for what one believes and good answers to the typical questions and objections that the unbeliever may raise. Sound training in apologetics is one of the keys to fearless evangelism. —William Lane Craig (from, Christian Apologetics: Who Needs It?)
While there are many excellent curriculum resources available to help you teach the "whats" effectively, there are not resources to help you teach the "whys" - until now. Anchored is designed to come alongside whatever curriculum you are currently using to teach the "whats", because teaching the "whys" matters as much as teaching the "whats". It does not replace your current curriculum - it supplements it and allows you to teach the "whys". It also includes resource for parents and grandparents to use at home to continue the learning in ways which will engage the entire family.
There are solid reasons we are able to believe God is real, the Bible is true, God and science DO go together and God is good - we must teach these reasons, these "whys" to the children we love so they are able to grow up with a confident faith. Check Anchored out today - you will find sample lessons at this link and are able to order Anchored at this link.
